Armacao De Pera

Armacao De Pera is a charming fishing village. It has one of the longest beaches in the Algarve. A promenade lined with bars and restaurants provides an excellent place for a relaxing drink or meal during the day or in the evening. All in all an ideal destination for everyone. There is plenty of night life for the young at heart.

Albufeira

Albufeira is probably the most commercial resort on the Algarve. There are narrowed streets lined with white washed houses, apartments, cafes and shops. There is a square which is an ideal place to visit one of the cafes and watch the world go by.

Vilamoura

Vilamloura has lots to offer. The marina is the heart of the resort. For Portugal’s Jet Set Vilamoura is the place. The days are spent relaxing on the beach. The nightlife is much more lively. Many start of at a restaurant overlooking the marina followed on by hours of night clubbing.

Silves – Old Moorish capital full of atmosphere

The ancient city of Silves if full of charm. There are narrow steeply winding cobbled streets. At the top of the hill is the castle, this is the oldest part of the town. There are a number of excellent restaurants and bars serving mainly Portuguese dishes. For a more cosmopolitan menu try Café Suzie which is close to the river’s edge

Monchique

Monchique is situated in the mountains. You can smell the lovely scent of arbutus, wild thyme and eucalyptus. There are spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Monchique gives a refreshing change from the beaches. You can walk through the steep tranquil streets of this charming retreat. Just 6km south of Monchique you can visit Caldas de Monchique. This is a tiny spa town whose water has been famous for the last 2000 years. They say it can cure several illnesses, including rheumatism, back ache and asthma.

There are lots more places to visit. Here are just a few of them:

Alcantarilha - Charming small town
Alvor - Busy fishing village
Carvoeiro - Lively seaside resort
Lagos - Cosmopolitan port with busy marina
